Just because you’re pregnant (congratulations, by the way!), it doesn’t mean you can’t exercise. In fact, as I’m sure you’ve heard, some moderate exercise is good for you and your unborn baby if you’re having a straightforward pregnancy (check with your doctor if you have a medical condition; always listen to your body and don’t push it. Ask your midwife if you have questions on what types of exercise or how much you should do).
With this in mind and a growing bump, I’ve been researching the rather meagre supply of active maternity wear out there. Here’s my pick of the kit, plus more websites to help you choose comfortable, flattering gear that makes you feel great while you enhance your healthy pregnant glow.
cravematernity.co.uk – good-value fitness basics.
fitnfabulous – cute, bright tops with slogans such as ‘training for two’ on them.
nordicmama.co.uk – active and lounge wear in lovely pastel colours.
sportybump.co.uk – mainly black basics.
Just remember, you shouldn’t try to increase your fitness while you’re pregnant, and on a scale of exertion between 1-10, don’t exceed 5. Enjoy your active pregnancy!
